4. Oranges

After eating an orange or similar citrus fruit, it’s recommended to wait a half hour before brushing your teeth. This will allow the acid to settle in your mouth and let your body absorb the Vitamin C more readily.

5. Water

While you may not consider water food, it is an essential part of a healthy diet. Your saliva is comprised almost entirely of water and serves to help break down the food you consume. Healthy levels of water help to neutralize the acid, which is a huge factor in preventing tooth decay.
